Welcome to the
Grimsrud Flute Studio
-
Do you want to be first chair in band, make All-State Band, or win college scholarship money?
-
Are you tired of being one of many flute players in band?
-
Do you sit down to practice and aren't quite sure what to do?
-
Do you want to perform with other flute players in really cool places?
-
Does the thought of auditions or playing alone in class terrify you?
-
Do you want to be a part of a flute community?
Did you answer yes to any of those questions? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
No matter what your goal is, I can help you achieve it! Unlike band class, every lesson is centered around YOU and what YOU need. As a teacher, one of my favorite things is watching my students blossom as flutists and young musicians! In addition to helping you meet your goals, we have fun while playing, because playing the flute IS fun!!!
By taking lessons with me, you will have the opportunity to take part in the following:
-
Weekly Lessons
-
Masterclasses (we LOVE inviting guest flutists to share with us)
-
Studio Recitals (you get to show off what you have been working on)
-
Studio Field Trips (did you know have a fantastic orchestra right here in Boise?!?!?)
-
Studio Ensembles...including Flute Choir (playing in a group is WAY more fun than playing alone)
-
Studio parties and picnics (who doesn’t love a good BBQ?)
PLUS, you’ll also get instant access to:
-
Special printable resources made just for you
-
Method book recordings for home practice

And just who am I?
I am a licensed music educator with 16+ years experience who LOVES all things flute! One of my favorite things about teaching flute is watching my students grow and blossom in rising stars in the flute community. I am also an active performer in various ensembles throughout the Treasure Valley!
Here’s what others have asked!
Do you offer online lessons?
I sure do! Due to Covid19, all of my flute lessons are online. When things start to settle down, we will shift back in "in person" lessons for those who want transition back to face to face lessons.
Do you teach beginners?
Absolutely! I LOVE teaching beginning flute students!
Yikes, I just don’t think I can spend that right now! Are there any other options??
I offer group lessons for beginning flutists via Zoom. Group lessons are very similar to individual lessons, but have 3-8 students in each lesson. This means the hourly rate for each student is lower, but you will still get the same great individualized instruction!
Do you offer bi-weekly (every other week) lessons?
I do not offer bi-weekly lessons. Studies have shown that students make the most progress when they take weekly lessons.
Will you travel to teach lessons in our home?
I do not travel to student's homes for lessons. I teach out of my home studio. My studio is set up to be distraction free for my students, and allows me to have all resources and teaching materials available whenever a student needs them. If transportation to and from lessons is a concern, online lessons might be perfect for you!
